JC posted: 05.22.2007 - 6:26 pm Rate this comment: (5) (0) This is the first race I ever saw in person. I was about 8 years old. By that time I was a Petty fan, and I'll never forget seeing him win. He stayed and signed autographs for what must have been about 2 hours after the race. I had nothing to autograph, but he shook my hand and patted me on the head. I also got to meet Tiny Lund and Elmo Langey, who later became the pace car driver for all cup events for many, many years.
