This is the only race that Buddy Arrington ran in the 1971 season. He
missed most of the season because he had to serve jail time for running
"moonshine". He was the last driver ever arrested for his involvement in
that. It harkens back to the early days of NASCAR when most drivers
including greats Pops Turner, Junior Johnson, and the Flock Brothers,
did what they had to do to make ends meet.

Note: complete lineup and DNQ are now available for this race.

Note: James Cox, initially qualified in 29th position, is forced not to
participate following the decision of its owner Don Robertson in favor
of his teammate Jabe Thomas (initially DNQ with the first alternate
position because he won the 20-lap Consolation race).

Note: Driver change:
-Glen McDuffie was qualified the car #78 but Henley Gray (was qualified
the car #7) drove the car in the race.
-Henley Gray was qualified the car #7 but Dean Dalton drove the car in
the race.
-Eddie Yarboro was qualified the car #13 but Wendell Scott (initially
DNQ) drove the car in the race.
-Tiny Lund drove the car #55 in qualifying but Earl Brooks (initially
DNQ) drove the car in the race.
-Richard D. Brown was qualified the car #91 but Ed Negre (initially DNQ)
drove the car in the race.
