All I can remember was that Pearson dominated the race and that Buddy Baker was in the 71 Dodge not Bobby Isaac. 2. The most glaring contradiction: Bobby Allison completed 331 laps, but listed as a lap leader from lap 228 to lap 332. Also, the report says Petty was driving a Plymouth, however Southern Motor Racing with reference to Dale Inman listed it as Dodge. Cautions: 72-85 - #2 oil on track 140-149 - debris David Pearson after the finish was treated in the infield care center for exhaustion and declined to participate in the traditional winner's interview in the press box located above the grandstand. During the race Benny Parsons was in Wood Brothers' pits ready to relieve Pearson if necessary. 5. This was Arnold's 21st and final Cup top-10 finish but he never broke through for a top-5. 8.
