The Wood Brothers came out and raised the hood I almost jumped out of the grandstands with joy(not a Pearson fan) They got the car started and the largest cloud of black smoke came out the headers that you have ever seen, I was so happy! The green flag drop and Pearon led 491 out of 492 laps - boy did he ever pay me back for laughing. 2. 18fan posted: 02.08.2009 - 2:08 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) The only lap Pearson didn't lead Allison barely led, I think this is the highest percentage of laps led by one driver without leading every lap. Petty blew his engine trying to run with Pearson. 3. autryvilleracefan posted: 01.24.2011 - 3:08 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Anybody know anything about J.D. McDuffie's sponsor for this race? It says VOTE in all capital letters. It was the only race the whole season where he wasn't a self-sponsor. 4. An interesting story about the final caution. The reason for it was an exhaust pipe which cut Pearson's tire. However officials were not able to find the pipe and removed it from the track under the yellow which made some people at the track believe that the caution was just to help David. After the race Bill Dennis found this exhaust pipe lodged in the underpart of his car and his crewmen were able to pry it out only using tools. 9. The line-up I have shows Roy Mayne in both 19th and 20th spots, as the car for 19th is a Plymouth I think it more likely that he qualified for Jabe Thomas than Joe Frasson. Charlie Roberts was added to the field when Jimmy Crawford couldn't start. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
