One of the reasons that the #21 was so successful in the 1973 season was the Wood Brothers having the car so well prepared for every race. You might notice that the team also skipped the June race at Riverside. 18. Baker's hopes of winning ended when a battery cable dislodged on the #71 leaving Petty to race to victory, lapping the field in his #43.
