He was involved in the race's first two cautions, including the big one on lap 66, but ultimately still rallied back to finish second behind Buddy Baker, albeit four laps behind. This was a rough night for Richard Childress. His #96 was involved in all three of the race's cautions. The last wreck that put him out of the race may have been a mercy kill since he was already more than 20 laps down at the time. 12.
