The driver Bud Moore is a different person than the owner Bud Moore.

Just watched some of the race on You Tube. Petty had to use a relief
driver but I couldn't make out who it was. Cale came on at the end and
Glotzbach was really strong midrace, he dropped out with differential
problems.

Apparently when the #31 of Jim Vandiver spun, it was intentional. He
then got out of his car, climbed over the outside wall, and hitchhiked
his way back home to Charlotte to avoid being arrested for missing his
child support hearing.

Young Richie Panch drove a second Junie Donlavey entry in this race with
the light green #98 Collex Collision Services Ford. The car could have
used a trip to the Collex shop after this one as a dying ignition led to
an incident where Panch crashed and spun off one of the corners in
traffic. Luckily no one hit him but the #98 Torino was still done for
the day.

Neil Castles did qualify in 38th but withdrew, allowing Mel Larson to
start.
