Random facts:

By starting his 628th race, Richard Petty moved to #1 in all time
starts, passing Buck Baker who had 627 at the time. Buck Baker had been
#1 since passing Lee Petty in 1962. Lee Petty had been #1 (at least
tied) since the the final race (#8) of 1949, and solely #1 since race
#16 of 1950, which was the 24th race ever run in what is now the Cup
series.

The track was resurfaced shortly before this race.

Glotzbach #28 sponsor was "Pylon".
