The car Vandiver drove in this race, and many others, was later preserved in exactly the condition it came off the track after its final race. Champion crew chief Ray Evernham later purchased it, the sale being featured on his television series "Americarna," with Vandiver being interviewed briefly in the episode. It aired about a year before his passing in 2015. 10. rateus posted: 02.19.2021 - 5:10 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Carl Adams qualified his Ford 38th but withdrew, giving first alternate Buddy Arrington a start.
