Lennie Pond blew his engine with eight laps to go just as Pearson was about to unlap himself from Petty after he pitted for an out of round tire. Pond took out Elmo Langley, Skip Manning, and Warren Tope. This set up a one lap dash with Petty beating Baker 4. In a rare appearance, Johnny Rutherford survived a horrendous wreck which tore off most of the leftside sheet metal and completely destroyed the #83. 5. You typically see most of the low numbers taken. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
