Darrell Waltrip also relief into Benny Parsons's car after the lap 75 overheating. Since Bristol we can't do that on Walter Ballard and Dick Brooks. 3. Richard Petty was very sick during this race. After winning, Bobby Allison commented how impressed he was with Richard's driving, considering how bad he felt. 6. b4il3y posted: 07.11.2013 - 3:34 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Dave Marcis almost won this race. Petty was sick, and had to get relief. No better than Dave. He almost got the king 201 this race. 7. 1995z71 posted: 03.29.2014 - 4:26 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) This was the last time AMC won a NASCAR race. 8. mkl62 posted: 12.30.2014 - 9:53 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Bobby Allison takes a clean sweep of Darlington in 1975. Fittingly, Busch also won the Southern 500 later that year for the next non-Big 3 win at Darlington. Surprisingly this was Roger Penske's last win as a Cup car owner at Darlington for more than 40 years until Brad Keselowski won the 2018 Southern 500. This was the fourth of Allison's five Darlington wins and he'd be waiting almost a decade for that last one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
