No more triple wins for Buddy Baker. Dave Marcis had his only Talladega

Was AJ Foyt not eligible for points for some reason, or is it just a
typo that he doesn't have an points listed as being earned in this race?

@9 its interesting, im looking at the Qualifying results and it shows
Donnie Allison in the #28 qualifying 3rd for this race, somewhere there
bust of been a DC for the race, im wondering if Donnie actually started
this race and AJ just relieved him for it, but unsure trying to dig and
see what i can find

@9 - Foyt didn't score points in any race for Ellington that year. I
don't know if that was due to an outbreak of the conflict between NASCAR
and USAC, or because Ellington was just late on entering races
("post-entry" cars don't score points). Ellington didn't run the whole
season, so points were irrelevant to him anyway.

I wonder if AJ only ran races that were FIA sanctioned under his FIA
license and didn't hold a NASCAR license this year. I think Bobby
Allison did that in USAC stock cars 1 year in the 70's. Not sure that's
what happened but it's a possibility.

@Destiny It would've been 4 straight for Buddy had it not been for a bad
pit stop that really cost him the race. Been looking for highlights of
this one but never found any.

@mike Buddy was the man at Talladega until Dale Earnhardt won an
incredible ten times there and finally took the all time laps led later
in his career.
