According to the track site on wikipedia, Yarborough becomes the only
person to win a cup race on his birthday.

My family had free tickets for both this race and the Dogwood 500
modified/late model sportsman event at Martinsville. For some reason,
both were on the same day ( I think Martinsville got rained out a week
earlier). I wanted to go to Martinsville, but got out voted.

Gary Myers matches his career-best finish in 11th. He finished 11th
three times over the course of two years but never broke through for a
top-10.

Dave Marcis started in the car qualified by Henley Gray, while Henley
moved to a car qualified by Elmo Langley.
