OK, just a half point in F1, the only time they ever gave a half point for any position. 3. The idea apparently was to pit the 3 women against each other on the track. 6. RaceFanX posted: 01.03.2008 - 11:57 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) Last Cup race for ARCA standout Ramo Stott 7. Beckers' #93 was fielded by Junie Donlavey, one of the few times he fielded a second car in addition to his normal #90. 8. One driver scored one-seventh of a point in one season (for sharing a fastest lap, recorded only down to the second, with six others) but scored 51 more in other years. 9. In fact, many drivers nearly boycotted the race, after 3-time world champ Emerson Fittipaldi (who was sitting on some guardrail) had a guardrail collapse under his weight! 10. Actually, there was a storm covering from the tri-oval over turns one and two for about two hours while turns three and four were in sunshine (love that Florida weather!). Yeah ... spent two hours standing under the Fireball Roberts Grandstand getting soaked! Coo Coo Marlin was out of brakes and when they red glagged and stopped the cars in the tri-oval he came flying around the field and spun it in the grass to get stopped. Lella Lombardi's car had one sharp paint job ... camouflage!! 11. saltsburgtrojanfan posted: 06.17.2016 - 1:37 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Caution 1: Lap 33-37: #48 stalled entrance to pit road Caution 2: Lap 79-99: rain tri-oval 12. saltsburgtrojanfan posted: 07.03.2016 - 2:45 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) correction Caution 1: Lap 33-36 Caution 2: Lap 81-102 13. oldgrandnational posted: 02.10.2019 - 10:15 pm Rate this comment: (3) (0) Suprised that no one has mentioned this would be the final win for Richard Petty in a Chrysler product. In this case, his trusty 1974 Dodge Charger. 14. To date, the best finish in NASCAR for an Italian citizen is second at the 2010 NAPA Auto Parts 200 by Max Papis. Christine Beckers becomes the first Belgian to race in NASCAR. The nation has a strong history of NASCAR, as Anthony Kumpen is a Euro Series champion. Kumpen is also the Uncle of F1 Superstar Max Verstappen. 16. The coal mining magnate entered NASCAR by buying out Nord Krauskopf's team and he wisely retained the services of driver Neil Bonnett and crew chief Harry Hyde when he did. The team's former red #71 Dodges got repainted in a new white #5 livery and they were off to the races. Bonnett's first ride for the new team saw him put it right on the pole and lead a lap early on en route to a top-10 finish. Even more success was to come later in the year... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
