It was a lucky time to break, it led to a smokey victory lap as the car threw sparks but by that time he had already won and was headed to victory lane. 6. Petty Enterprises fielded mostly Chevys and Buicks from 1979-1981, before switching to Pontiacs. 7. The two cars are virtually identical except for a few cosmetic things. The 1977 and 1978 Chevrolet Impala's had the front turn signal combined with the headlamp cluster. The Caprice on the other hand had it's turn signal in the front bumper. On the #43 in 1979 and 1980 you can clearly see this. In fact the King had the front turn signal on some tracks blocked off on one side and used as an air intake for the brakes on the other. However sometimes teams really did use the Caprice including Buddy Baker, DW, and Benny Parsons. 8. rateus posted: 02.13.2021 - 1:22 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Elmo Langley qualified for Tommy Gale. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
