I have a picture we took standing in victory lane. We were about 10 ft. from Earnhardt. He signed it years later.I still have my ticket it was $16 and we also got ours the day before the race. 7. If he wrecked Waltrip, it must not have been too bad because he still finished on the lead lap. 10. RaceFanX posted: 09.26.2008 - 1:31 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Elmo Langley's last real race. He'd have a few start and parks after this but this was the last time he really tried to finish a race. 11. myself posted: 08.20.2009 - 2:08 pm Rate this comment: (1) (4) I'm surprised this date isn't a federal holiday (eye roll). 12. McDuffie drove for him. 13. 18fan posted: 03.09.2010 - 1:16 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Dale's crew chief was the recently deceased "Suitcase" Jake Elder, so named since he would take a team to glory and then leave to do the same with another team. 14. fannie davis posted: 03.23.2011 - 1:53 am Rate this comment: (2) (1) hello Jake and myself no it isn't a holiday but in the book of Earnhardt nation which i am proudly a part of it should be and if dale turned anyone well he did the same as many did during that time just my opinion i respect yours maybe you can do the same for mine thank you and have a good day.... 15. 18fan posted: 06.21.2011 - 12:31 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Buddy Baker and Cale Yarborough crashed racing for the lead. 16. The footage showed Dale taking the checkered flag and pulling victory lane and a bit of the celebration. However officially Bristol was not televised until 1985. 25.
