First race at Texas World Speedway since 1973

My family and I went to this race. Wa;trip had a lap lead but Allison,
Baker and Yarborough had a one lap dash for second. Allison got second
by about two feet over Baker, who was about four feet back. Another HOT
race at Texas World.

The least attended race in NASCAR's modern era as only 11,500 attended
the event. This was also the last race held in Texas before 1997 when
Texas Motor Speedway opened and hosted NASCAR events.

^^not true, they had a cup race the next two seasons before the cup
series quit returning there.

I'd like to see pics of HB Bailey's Pontiac...there weren't many of
those in the 70's in Nascar!

I also attended that race with my Air Force Barracks roommate Chuck
Lamb. He was a NASCAR SUPER FAN! He ended up a Race reporter for a
newspaper back east. He was a great man and a great artist. he passed
away several years ago. I have a poster from that race that was of the
kind they hung on a store window......as a matter of fact that's where I
got it. Anyone interested in it?

Looks like Dale Sr. was Waltrip's top challenger before he crashed late.
Race was just put up on MRN Classic Races page.
