This is the first race I have a memory of attending....I was 3 months
shy of being 3!

Joe Millikan drove relief for Richard Petty who had a bad crash at
Pocono a couple of weeks earlier. The King was credited with a 4th place
finish.

Last time until this race in 1984 that Darrell Waltrip didn't win at
Bristol.

So, taking this victory into account, from this race until 1984, only
the #11 was in victory lane @ Bristol?

School bus jump and crash school bus lost the front axle and failed to
finish the race. It was jumping over motorcycles and had to jump at a
speed of 75 mph.
