The victory set the stage for fair share of late season success... This win was the only Winston Cup one for Bonnett at Darlington and the first for he and the Wood Brothers after the #21 made the switch from Mercury to Ford at the start of the 1981 season when the series' new downsized cars were introduced. Before this race the Wood Brothers hadn't won a race while fielding a Ford since Dan Gurney's win at Riverside in 1968. 4. zuel660 posted: 01.30.2018 - 8:09 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Hoss Ellington with a 2 car effort here, & both Buddy Baker & David Pearson finish in the top 10. 5. Today the Thunderbird belongs to its sponsor Warner Hodgdon who has loaned it out for a display at Daytona's Motorsports Hall of Fame of America museum. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
