Were Rudd, Ruttman, and Speed involved in the same crash? They all
retired with accident damage at the same part of the race.

North Wilkesboro's hometown hero Dean Combs comes up from the NASCAR
International Sedan/Goody's Dash Series ranks to make his Winston Cup
debut at his local track. While he went out early the weekend wasn't a
complete wash for Combs as he finished third in the Dash series race a
day earlier on this event's undercard, Mickey York won that race but
Combs would go on to win the Dash series championship in 1981. Combs'
Buick here was sponsored by the Boulevard Datsun car dealership in
Richmond that belonged to his car owner Irv Sanderson, at the time Combs
fittingly raced a Datsun in the International Sedan series.
