hard in a crash with Tim Richmond.

DW really finished second in this race but got a push on the last lap, a
rule infraction so he was put down a lap after the race.

Earnhardt broke his leg in this crash. Yes, he competed one week later
in Talladega, but I don't know when NA$CAR found out about his broken
leg. Dale was One Tough Customer (Wrangler's slogan back then).

I am still in awe of how that man survived that kind of wreck, the one
at Talladega in 96, but died hitting the wall.

Just read an interview with Larry McReynolds on Speed TV.Com . He said
at this
race (Pocono 2) and the next 13 races in '82 he was Mark Martin's crew
chief.

Which resulted in a 40-lap caution period.
