Every year since 1969, a different driver had won this race, until this race. That's pretty significant. 2. I know it was a long, long time ago but I know that a lot of NASCAR fans keep those kinds of archives. I am sure that CBS was covering them at this time. I would love to get my hands on a copy if anyone has one. Please let me know. Thanks Ty in Tulsa 4. If anyone can help with a copy I'd greatly appreciate it. mdp4499@yahoo.com 6. myself posted: 02.21.2008 - 12:21 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) This win by Waltrip ended the "13 Races, 13 Faces" Talladega 500 saga. 7. The deal with the wood burning stove company came together before the season and was to allow Mark to run a full NASCAR Cup season for the first time but Apache Stove never paid the team and the deal finally collapsed after this race. The deal's failure later played into the decision to shut down the #02 team at the end of the year as Martin moved on to another eventually unsuccessful deal with J.D. Stacy for 1983. 8. Here's a picture I was able to find taken of Bobby with the car before the race: http://s93.photobucket.com/user/raylawsonII/media/BOBBY%20ALLISON/yAllison88GatoradeLemansDegavi-vi.jpg.html 11. I found multiple newspapers saying it was a Chrysler in their results. 14.
