I know CBS had all of the Summer races, but I'm curious who had 83-85. I know for a fact it wasn't ESPN (since I'm going through their archive). 10. Humorously tying back into that gif from the "The Simpsons" "The Critic" actually did have a crossover episode where its main character turned up on "The Simpsons." Weird. 40. Harry Gant turns in a top-5 run and took the points lead from Bobby Allison as a result of the 31-point swing. Neil Bonnett came in third in points and maintained that position although he lost ground as a result of the issues that left him with a 15th-place finish, seven laps down. 41. Unser1 posted: 01.08.2020 - 10:05 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Neil Bonnett's #75 Chevrolet car had a one-off sponsorship from Team America in this race, at the time that was an expansion sports team in the troubled North American Soccer League. The team's sponsor Warner Hodgdon was one of the founders of the Washington, D.C.-based NASL team which boasted an all-American roster. Bonnett may not have had a great run on the track here but it was better than how Team America did on the pitch as the soccer team finished last in the regular season, missed the playoffs, and folded after just one season of play not long afterward. The NASL itself would after its 1984 season, leaving the US without a national soccer league until the MLS began play in 1996. 42. Not sure who the others were, and unfortunately the decision ended tragically for Kalla. Bob Brevak was also sent to the hospital due to an accident in the undercard event that saw just 9 cars running at the finish due to attrition and a number of smaller wrecks. 44. No doubt the fact it also worked as a good pun on both Cup veteran Benny Parsons and younger brother Phil Parsons being sponsored by Skoal at this time. 48. RaceFanX posted: 01.09.2021 - 10:24 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) This was only Phil Parsons' second NASCAR Cup start and he went for a wild ride in that flip saw him barrel roll over five times. Parsons' #66 Shoal Bandit #66 had a new body for this race as the team bought the surplus Pontiac LeMans sheetmetal Cale Yarborough drove to victory with in the Daytona 500 earlier in the year then repainted it in their green and white colors. The car was fast until it wrecked, qualifying in the top-10. Today the destroyed remains of the #66 are preserved in the Talladega museum. 49. rateus posted: 02.08.2021 - 10:48 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Mike Potter might be a driver change for the ARCA race but Lowell Cowell definitely qualified the #76 as well as racing it so Potter isn;t a driver change for this race. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
