He was ahead in the point standings of NASACR legends such as Ricky Rudd, Dave Marcis, Tim Richmond, Geoff Bodine, Kyle Petty, and Dale Earnhardt. Means would end up 18th in points when things were all said and done in 1983. 4. There's a YouTube video of highlights from the race. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRij0RInTKM You can see Cale in a LeMans in this clip, though it is possible they mixed in footage of that year's Daytona 500 in this video. 11. Swapping the #21 Ford for the #75 Chevy didn't affect his endurance effort as he won the 600 again here. These two 600 victories were his only wins at Charlotte. 13. Activision had already published several racing video games in the prior years for the early Atari 2600 video game console including "Dragster" and "Grand Prix." Martin's white #01 Monte Carlo was specifically entered in this race to promote the release of "Enduro," a rally racing game, that had come out earlier in the year and the game's logo was placed on the hood of his car while the sides just had the standard Activision logo. This was the last race of the season for Emanuel Zervakis' #01 team and the only time it ever paired with Martin. Weirdly the "Enduro by Activision" decal on the hood was mounted pointing toward the right side of the car instead of straight (maybe so the crowd could read it better?). Martin ultimately crashed out of this one which proved sadly fitting given the approaching Video Game Crash of 1983 that all but wiped out the American video game industry and led to numerous layoffs at Activision. At least "Enduro" was a hit, it was widely regarded as one of the best driving games released for the 2600. 14.
