Earnhardt beat waltrip out of the pits all night until the last pit stop. Then the race never was restarted. It never occurred to me that i wouldn't get to see the end. i was crushed, but I got over it. :) 7. saltsburgtrojanfan posted: 12.12.2015 - 3:17 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Caution 1: Lap 3-8: #71 stalled backstretch Caution 2: Lap 73-77: #48 spun frontstretch Caution 3: Lap 272-277: #27,64 accident turn 2 Caution 4: Lap 356-361: #18 spun turn 1 Caution 5: Lap 412-419: #75 accident turn 4 8. The way I remember it, Junior Johnson had a radar weather report that a heavy storm was close by and he kept Darrell on the track when the last caution came out....hoping that the race would never restart, which it didn't. I was thrilled, because I was one of the few DW fans back in those days. (And I am a lifelong resident of Randleman....Richard Petty's hometown!) 9.
