Elliott then proceeded to get out of the car and push it to preserve his 3rd place finish (This is taken out of Elliott's autobiography). 2. most posted: 03.03.2007 - 6:33 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) This race put Lake Speed on the map, he could have won it without some engine troubles. Others include Rusty Wallace, Dick Brooks, Greg Sacks and Geoff Bodine. Ulrich finds out that he has steering problems. This is the 107 lap, while Brooks and Wallace decided they got crashed and Sacks was running. 5. He was credited with finishing 3rd and the first car 1 lap down because he completed lap 366 before the other 3 cars who finished 1 lap down. He was not given credit for the final lap. 11. They won! 19. Mile501 posted: 10.02.2017 - 12:57 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) You mean Martinsville, not Richmond. But I hadn't heard that aspect of the story before. It's fascinating to think about how much different NASCAR would have been over the years had Hendrick Motorsports never developed--and it was so close to turning out that way. 20. saltsburgtrojanfan posted: 08.30.2018 - 2:03 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Caution corrections Caution 2: Lap 48-53 Caution 4: Lap 95-101 Caution 5: Lap 108-117 Caution 6: Lap 136-146 Caution 8: Lap 179-183 Caution 9: Lap 302-305 21. If he hadn't pushed it he would have finished sixth. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
