I think Ed Baugess was in the 68 car, but the 8 being beside the parenthesis made it a smiley face with sunglasses 8) 4. Bonnett held him off to score his second win in the first seven races of 1985 but also his last of the year. EPSN interviewed Junior in the closing laps but while he was hoping for a 1-2 either way he was kind of hoping DW would get by to get him on the winner's circle program for the next year. Waltrip would win later in the season, on the way to his title upset, with his victory in the World 600 putting him on the winner's circle program for 1986. Bobby Allison nipped Ricky Rudd in a photo finish for third with a last-lap pass off turn 4. 10. Problem is he nearly hit the official at the end of pit road who had to jump over the front of Petty's car to avoid impact. Kyle's in car camera also caught him giving the flag man the bird while he was being black flagged. 13. Bonnett's car would stall if it dropped below 7000 RPM, so Bonnett had to keep it revved during cautions and the crew had to push it out of the pit box on nearly every stop. Waltrip's car belched a huge puff of black smoke into the cockpit about 1/3 of the way into the race. Waltrip thought the engine was blowing up, backed off, then realized it was still under power and no longer smoking, so he went back to full throttle. If he hadn't dropped back there, he probably would have won the race, as he had to battle his way from the tail end back to second. 14.
