It ain't racing, it is just survival". These words were said in the heat of the moment, after his disappointing qualifying attempt on Friday, but many people including Mr. H. Clay Earles were very unhappy. With temperatures hovering around 85F the race became a hard ordeal for some drivers. Bill Elliott was sent to the hospital with the heat exhaustion, Geoff Bodine after the finish couldn't get out of the car by himself.
