The car wasn't very fast, but I always loved the paint scheme on the #19 Coors Extra Gold that Chad Little drove during 1988. Sort of the opposite color scheme of Davey Allison's. Those 1988 Thunderbirds were nice looking cars. 7. This was the third of his four wins at the Monster Mile. 17. 48johnsonfan posted: 11.18.2017 - 5:15 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 4th Caution was for debris. 18. It was more a sign of the times where 2 or 3, sometimes only 1 car would finish races on the lead lap. The ironic thing about him finishing 2nd in this race and it being the first time he did finish on the lead lap was that the next year in 1989 Earnhardt dominated both Dover races, winning both, as well as leading the most laps in both. Looking at all his finishes at Dover leading up to this race would shock the younger modern day Nascar fan knowing he was never on lead lap at the end of them. 1979-5th and 9th 1980-10th and 34th 1981-3rd and 15th 1982-3rd and 20th 1983-8th and 35th 1984-5th and 5th 1985-25th and 7th 1986-3rd and 21st 1987-4th and 31st 1988-16th So 19 career starts at Dover, 11 top 10s, 8 top 5s and yet it took him until his 20th start there in which he finished 2nd to finish the race on the lead lap is astounding when looking at Nascar now and in the recent past. Those results, though lacking a win, would make someone say that guy is pretty successful at Dover, lol. 19. I accidentally counted this race finish when i was figuring it up. Still pretty successful results for any driver. 20. He has a history of hating of Earnhardt with him being Ford Fanboy. Walleyewhacker matter of fact years ago make the Statement Davey Allison was very close to Earnhardt in points when he died. That statement about Davey Allison was false because at the end of Davey's final cup race, Davey was 323 points back after 16 races were completed. 21.
