His car was painted solid white and the only decals on his car were three red #7's on the doors and on the roof. 3. myself posted: 02.15.2008 - 2:33 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 2 races, 2 poles for Davey! 4. Rudd, Kulwicki and Gant put on a great show, during the 1st half of the race. 6. nascarman posted: 05.26.2015 - 1:06 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Qualifying Results: Pos. Driver Speed 1. Starting in 1992, Richmond became the third race of the season, moving to the week after Rockingham (which kept its original date, giving two weeks between the Daytona 500 and the spring Rockingham race) and the week before Atlanta. Previously, there was an open date between Rockingham and Atlanta. 9. Stabler would be a commentator and pit reporter for TBS during the 1991 season. During the late portion of the race while Earnhardt was leading Squier would lead Stabler into discussing the similarities during his time with the Silver and Black Raiders and the Silver and Black RCR and Earnhardt team. Super Bowl winning coach Dick Vermeil was a pit reporter for ABC for some IROC races during the 1980's. 10. Crew chief Andy Petree went to Skoal executive Johnny Hayes (who also called some races for TBS in the late 80's) and lobbied for Hayes to speak to Mast about not retaliating the next week as Dale didn't want to lose any points in his title quest. It must have worked as the two didn't have any other major issues after. It makes you wonder how many similar chats were had to a recipient of the 3's chrome horn over the years. 12. You are forgetting that qualifying was held on multiple days back in that era. The top 20 was locked in on the first day. Drivers outside the top 20 may have faster speeds on day 2 but they still couldn't start higher than 21st because they didn't qualify on day 1. 15.
