Thus puttting a new twist the old saying "Why did the chicken cross the road"..to "why did the chicken cross the racetrack"....so funny 2. Don't quote me on that though. 3. He said that as of that morning, she was alive, but he didn't know at the moment. He was flying back to Dawsonville to be with his family. 4. Did a chicken really bring out a caution in this race? 7. I remember my dad telling me that Neil Bonnet hit a deer a few years before that. 8. This video of later in the race shows what may be a bull on the racetrack right after a special on Jimmy Spencer. This clip also comes from battalionfan888. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-hkXFJlyck 12. They mention that after the video ends I should know because I am battalionfan888 13. It was listed as a Chevrolet on the entry list, but when it showed up at the track some of the NASCAR officials were sure it was a Buick. They tried checking the chassis to try to figure it out, but the chassis was so old and outdated nobody recognised what it was, Hylton told them to just consider it a Hyltonmobile and be done with it. 21. nascarman posted: 12.28.2016 - 9:34 am Rate this comment: (2) (0) J.D. McDuffie used a carburetor from his tow truck to keep his car going mid-race. "In what was an extraordinarily competitive race, it was fun to keep track of veteran J. D. McDuffie, who has made a career of being uncompetitive. McDuffie's crew wore new, matching maroon "J. D. McDuffie Fan Club" T-shirts to go with their jeans, but it didn't help. He started in next-to-last place and was out of the race after 18 laps. But he just went back to the garage to find a new carburetor, possibly from his tow vehicle. He made two more trips to the barn before giving up at the rain delay thus extending his NASCAR streak to 651 races without a victory. He did move up two slots to 35th place with 49 laps completed, a mere 89 laps behind the leaders when he retired. Naturally, his crew couldn't get the pickup truck that hauls McDuffie's car to work right, either." 22. Anonymous posted: 11.14.2017 - 3:34 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Brett Bodine joined the broadcast crew for a few minutes after his day ended due to a mechanical problem. Darrell Waltrip, during a rain delay interview, sent emotional, choked up verbal encouragement to Benny Parsons, whose wife had passed earlier in the day. Word had undoubtedly reached most of the garage area by that point. DW also reiterated this sentiment in his victory lane interview. 24.
