He struggled for constant sponsorship in 1992, but NAPA came on board in '93 (his final year) and '94 (Brad Teague was the majority driver) before Means Racing's Winston Cup days were over. 5. The rising northeastern talent came into this race hot off winning the Busch North championship and while it wasn't a flashy debut TNN pit reporter Glenn Jarrett interviewed him before the race and accurately predicted that fans should keep an eye on him as a driver they needed to watch for the future. Craven wouldn't make another Cup appearance after this one-off until he joined the series full time as a rookie at the start of the 1995 season. 22. Van Houten's car was white on the front with a darker color diagonally across from lower front to top of the decklid. Hill's car was it's typical red and yellow, Hylton's car was solid black. Joe Ruttman drove the primary Olds in this race, not a Chevrolet. Harry Gant would have won the race, but experienced a slow pit stop during his final green flag stop. Davey Allison encountered problems during his final pit stop as well, running into the back of Derrike Cope, gashing the left front of the Texaco/Havoline Ford. Mark Martin stayed out longer than the other two, but when he pitted, he elected not to take tires, just fuel. That combined with the fact Allison and Gant had taken on tires meant Martin was a sitting duck when he returned to the track. Davey held off Gant over the final few green flag laps. 23.
