In addition to the $57,800 from the race purse, if the race broadcast is to be believed Bill Elliott received an additional $50,000 from Ford for winning driving a T-Bird. They also quoted the margin of victory as 12.8 seconds. 11. Schroeder51 posted: 03.21.2011 - 3:00 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Alan Kulwicki climbed the backstretch wall in his crash. It seemed like a lot of accidents on Rockingham's backstretch featured cars climbing the wall. 12. sk posted: 03.11.2012 - 4:42 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) jerry hill's best career finish. 13. His car must have been awesome. 17. Plus Waltrip was red hot at the start of the 1992 season, he was a contender for the win at the Daytona 500 (that was one of his best chances to win he had during the 1990s) and followed up with a top-5 here. He left the Rock sixth in points but couldn't maintain the momentum. 18. Buck primarily drove for his self-owned team en route to winning the 1957 NASCAR Cup championship, and the team amassed 13 wins (all with Buck behind the wheel) throughout its five decades competing sporadically at the Cup level. 21. His performances in the Daytona 500 since '87 had been mediocre to bad, leaving him in a hole he couldn't climb out of. 2 consecutive 16th place finishes to open 1992 had him knocking on the door, but poor finishes in the next 3 out of 4 races would push him out of the top-20 altogether. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
