He made one BGN appearance later that season, and didn't show up again until his (successful!) run for Busch Series Rookie of the Year honors in 1995. Another dominant performance for Awesome Bill, winning his second of four consecutive races. The season capstone Hooters 500 would mark his only other win all year. 3. Evan posted: 07.14.2014 - 7:58 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Bill Elliott had an absolute machine who led 348 laps in a dominating effort but the race was pretty boring from the outset but there was good racing through the field and I was impressed at the coverage that TBS was showing at the time(I have this race on DVD). The final few laps between Elliott and Kulwicki were the sticking point though and the final few laps were a preview of the championship fight. 9. Michael Waltrip's car had some flames erupt under the car when his engine expired to cause the second caution. Kulwicki raced side by side with Bill for about the final five laps or so. It looked like it may be a photo finish coming out of Turn 4, but Bill pulled ahead by about a bumper. Good finish. 13. You could see when they showed a shot of a group of fans in the stands right after the end a lot of fans had their arms in the air. You could tell why Elliott was winning most popular driver all of those years. The funny thing was the woman in the Dale Earnhardt shirt. You could tell she wasn't for sure who won it and could read her lips to a fan in the row ahead, "He lost?", then when she found out Elliott edged out Kulwicki she rolled her head back in disgust then hung it down. Earnhardt and Elliott fans really did hate the other guy. 16. Maybe Jimmy Horton, but that team drover red Chevys. If anyone has an idea let me know 17. Joshua posted: 03.29.2019 - 9:25 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) 16 GGDC One possibility may be Randy Porter; he ran some races in '92 with Pontiacs, one was numbered 61 for Coca-Cola 600 and I remember seeing his black #37 Pontiac on track at Talladega in July. I suppose also it could have been a "grocery getter" for Jimmy Means, but he never used the #32 for that as far as I can tell. Usually it was 53 and 62 on a couple of occasions. 18. Randy Porter was listed on the broadcast as being in the 82 and is on here as the 61, but he was in the 32 car. You can see the leaders pass him at the 100 lap mark (at Charlotte) 19.
