That and the fact that every other driver on the track at every race he was in was trying to finish ahead of him. How Rude! 7. 83andJoe posted: 06.24.2013 - 11:36 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #55 crew chief: Sandy Jones (same for all races following this one) (this is the correct info) 8. Bramblegrunt posted: 09.19.2016 - 2:49 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) Hut Stricklin was recently released from driving duties for the #12 Bobby Allison Reybestos 12 and was replaced for this race and 3 more later by Jeff Purvis. Stricklin went over to race the #90 Junie Dunlevy car Junie was also in the news for this race for making the announcement of going back to full time racing getting Heilig Meyers Sponsorship for 1993 and announced Jimmy Spencer as their driver. However these 2 stories become ironically intertwined. Jimmy Spencer would later fill the seat of the #12 Reybestos car in the closing races of 1992 to GREAT acclaim, enough so that Allison snatched him up for the 1993 season despite being signed by Dunlevy for 1993 and Dunlevy went to Bobby Hillin for their driver in 1993 instead. If Allison didnt release Stricklin, Spencer would never have driven for Bobby Allison and wouldnt have been snatched up by him and would have gotten the drive for Dunlevy for 1993 and perhaps 1994 since I believe it was supposed to be a 2 year deal 11. He replaced Hut at the #57 team in 1990. 14. 28DaveyAllison28 posted: 12.19.2016 - 7:03 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) What's funnier did you know? For 1993 season, Jimmy Spencer replaced Hut Stricklin in the Bobby Allison #12 Fords. For 1994, Jimmy got the call to replace Hut again in the #27 McDonald'a Junior Johnson Fords. And 1995 season, Jimmy replaced Hut once again in the #23 Smokin' Joe's Fords owned by Travis Carter. Weird I've always known this but never gave it much thought until now 15. When Davey got his car going the car shot up the pavement after the transition from the grass and almost took out Rusty Wallace and Alan Kulwicki, the latter of which was trying not to go a lap down. Would have been real nasty collision had it occurred. 16. Its usage was for looking at drivers who had a chance to win the event, the Timex fastest lap, among certain others things as well as awards. The three men that anchored the pit center were Dave Despain, Mike Joy and Rick Benjamin. 21. Couldn't make out the rest, if all that other was just a logo or if there were other words on there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
