Unfortunately, it was his last, I did not care that much for Davey Allison but it was unfortunate what happened to him. 4. Davey's final win. If he hadn't been taken from us so soon, its very easy to imagine that he'd still be racing, have 50+ wins, & probably a couple of championships. 6. Dale Jarrett reclaimed the point lead by finishing fourth. Earnhardt was caught speeding down pit road late in the race and ended up losing a lap due to the penalty. 14. myself posted: 07.29.2009 - 1:20 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Davey's only win w/ a beard. 15. Wallace actually lost a wheel in the accident. 17. JG24FanForever posted: 06.21.2011 - 2:14 am Rate this comment: (2) (0) This is the first race Jeff Gordon beat Dale Earnhardt. 18. You should probably get your facts right before calling someone an idiot, just makes YOU look like the idiot... 19. Undoubtedly would have ended up with more than 19 career wins had he lived. We still miss you, Davey. Concerning the crash coming to the checkers, watching on YouTube, it looks like the 68 gassed it coming out of Turn 4, but did so in an overzealous manner, and turned down into the right rear of the 40, causing the right rear tire of the 40 to come off. It wasn't a battle for position, and both cars crossed the line spinning, so that is why they are still listed as running at the finish. 20. Hensley said that Means' shoulder was still bothering him from the Daytona crash and that Means had also had a death in the family, so he thought it was best if he let someone else drive the car that weekend. 21.
