I also seem to recall Jeff Gordon wrecked DW in this race; DW had some harsh words about the incident in his interview. 6. I remember DW saying something about "these younger drivers not respecting the older drivers." Ironic when you consider how much DW shook up the senior NASCAR establishment when he came along in the '70s. 7. Seperated tires forced him to the pits for an unscheduled stop twice, but he was able to make up both laps to dominate the late stages. Mark Martin and Wallace collide off turn four causing Rusty to take several hard hits. Ernie Irvan won the pole but ws forced to a start in the rear. He charged to the front but his engine expired shortly afterwards. 8. The Ost posted: 09.30.2009 - 9:17 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I just watched this race, it was great! Back and forth action. 9. This race had so much auction, crashes & storylines in it!!! Dave Marcis had a great car that could've finished in top 5. Highly recommend watching this race on YOUTUBE 13. myself posted: 04.14.2015 - 12:40 pm Rate this comment: (0) (2) What were they auctioning off at this race, WardBurtonfan? 14. Very similar to his reaction of his accident with Davey Allison at Bristol three years prior. This incident later came up on FOX's top 10 Dover moments during a rain delay. 16. Well, run up front and run well and they might respect you, Darrell. Some things in NASCAR have and will never change. 18. Josh posted: 07.28.2016 - 2:15 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The inconsistency of the field sizes at these tracks during this period has always bothered me. Sometimes NASCAR allowed 39, sometimes they allowed 41. Makes no sense. 19. Just what the facilities (and pits) could hold at the time. 22. Apparently he and his wife got it as a small pet, then it grew to 125 pounds unexpectedly! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
