Dale Sr. had a Davey Allison flag with him and Rusty had a Alan Kulwicki flag with him. Pretty awesome!!! 2. Even though he missed this race due to his untimely death, Davey Allison was STILL in the top 10 in points following this race! 7. Kyle Petty succumbed to clutch problems I believe, while Jarrett's handling faded. Rusty Wallace, who'd lumbered around most of the day, leaped into contention with a great pit stop late and dogged Earhardt the rest of the way. 13. I didn't have it in me to care for Nascar at that point, not after my favorite driver and the greatest driver to suit up was taken just less than a week before hand. 14. Not sure what the connection with Jimmy Means was, if any. http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=L-8GAAAAIBAJ&sjid=mjMDAAAAIBAJ&pg=3281,4519707&dq=henley-gray&hl=en 15. 18fan posted: 11.25.2010 - 12:02 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) This was at least the second time in 1993 that Kyle Petty had clutch problems, he had a clutch problem at Rockingham in February. 16. Unbelievably, he still hadn't led a lap all season. He would finally lead a lap from the pole in the next race at Talladega. After winning 5 races and coming up 10 points short of a championship in 1992, he only led 14 laps in 1993. 18. 10andJoe posted: 03.01.2012 - 10:39 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #38 owner: Bob Sutton 19. It would take a Mark Martin win streak to start watching again, but it still wasn't the same anymore without Alan and Davey. I was becoming much more of an NHL fan. 20. Havoline also did a very nice tribute to Davey in the form of a commercial thanking him for his relationship with Texaco through the years, so touching. There may not have been a 28 in the field, but thought were in the air about Davey Allison that day. Earnhardt won this race, but his mind still was on the Allison family. 22. Skyler posted: 11.01.2016 - 11:58 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) The #28 should have been a withdrawn. NASCAR requires the entry to be submitted 13 days prior to the event to earn pionts. My guess is not listed as withdrawn because if you remember the winner circle program nascar had for team owners, it required each team to enter each event and nascar have Robert Yates Racing an exception for this race. 25.
