Ted Musgrave finished 13th after earning his first career pole with a new track record. 2002 Daytona 500 winner Ward Burton made his not-so-impressive debut (35th). 3. It ended up rolling out from under his car and costing Jeff a chance at possibly winning. 4. Anyone know what Mike was running? 12. Mark O. posted: 05.07.2008 - 5:42 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I just watched the starting lineup. Hillin indeed drove the no. 90 and Mike Wallace did in fact DNQ. TBS didn't mention his car number, however. 13. RaceFanX posted: 07.29.2018 - 12:03 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Danny Sullivan came and tested at Richmond before Speedweeks to get ready for this race, marking the first time he ever drove a Cup car, but ultimately his part-time #99 team choose not to attempt it. Sterling Marlin and Kyle Petty also took part in that test with Petty and his SABCO team's R&D efforts paying off with a top-5 run. Morgan-McClure choose to test here citing Richmond as one of the team's worst tracks and their lessons paid off with a strong qualifying run. 24. He definitely had plans to go but perhaps he was so far off the pace compared to the other cars testing they decided to skip this race to avoid another embarrassing DNQ 29. Anyone know who. 31. GoPM21 posted: 02.17.2020 - 5:05 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) @30 Only two provisionals for the race per the TBS coverage...but my educated guess is Ricky Rudd. He was the last car to qualify on time and wouldn't have had owner's points to fall back on. 32. Joshua posted: 08.29.2020 - 10:50 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Ernie Irvan said in Victory Lane they brought the same car Davey won with in 1993, but that he couldn't get the car to work with the setup for Davey, so they made a bunch of changes and it obviously paid off. 33. Anonymous posted: 09.15.2020 - 5:11 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) To answer Shawn's question earlier there were 2 provisional starting spots in this race based on 1993 car owner point standings (35th and 36th). Terry Labonte did not qualify on speed and chose to take a past champion's provisional to start 37th. If Terry had taken a regular provisional instead he and Bobby Hamilton would have started 35th and 36th and Bobby Hillin's #90 would have missed the race (and only 36 cars would have started). ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
