Spencer came down on Schrader sending himself into the wall. Spencer retaliated under caution by running into the back of Schrader's car. Spencer was foced to serve some time in the penalty box by NASCAR. 4. myself posted: 02.16.2007 - 7:06 pm Rate this comment: (3) (0) I remember the next day's sports page headline read, "The Ice Man Cometh." Pretty cool. I always liked Terry Labonte. For about a 5+ year stretch beginning in 94', he was dang tough in that Kelloggs car! 5. He had to serve excactly 5 laps in the penalty box for bumping Schrader in the back afterwards. (This is in Nascar Chronicle, it has the picture of Spencer sliding off Schrader's bumper, and right next to that, a picture showing Spencer slamming into Schrader's back.) 8. But, what hasn't been mentioned here is that later in the race, Spencer spun out Schrader again, costing Schrader a lap and getting himself put in the penalty box again. 9. I think he had the STG sponsorship. 12. Bobby B. posted: 12.01.2012 - 2:13 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) The beginning of the best career revival in NASCAR history. 13. Geoff Bodine won three times in 1990 driving them, so Terry would have probably won at least four times. 16. Ivan Balakhonov posted: 01.10.2016 - 10:14 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Additional notes: - Because NASCAR added two more spots on the starting field for short tracks, three pit stalls in North Wilkesboro were shared by six teams. The drivers who had to share pits were: Darrell Waltrip and Dick Trickle, Dale Jarrett and Bobby Labonte, Harry Gant and Jeff Burton. Before the fall race in North Wilkesboro more pits were added to avoid this situation from happening again. - Bobby Labonte had to use the provisional, since his team was fined when inspectors found that Bill Davis Racing used the fourth set of tires on Friday, while only three sets were permitted to use before the completion of the second round of qualifying. Labonte was banned from track activity on Saturday. - Ernie Irvan was to blame for the mishap on the final pit stop. He didn't put his foot on the brake pedal and the rear wheels were spinning when tire changers began their work. However it is unclear whether Ernie would have fared better if his stop was faster. After the finish he admitted that the last set of tires was really bad and he almost burnt the rear wheels trying to catch the leaders on that final run. 18. Ned Jarrett noticed that Jimmy slid on the curb and presumably it forced his car to move into Schrader's. Well, I'm not bying it. We all know what kind of driver Jimmy Spencer was, don't we? 19.
