Last win for a #11 car til' 2006! That's amazing considering the number of wins racked up by the #11 car in the 70s, 80s, & early 90s! 4. spencer posted: 02.24.2007 - 3:33 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Bill Elliott's car looked like a mosquito sprayer at the end of this race. Everyone thought his engine would expire with all the white smoke but he ran for the longest time and was able to win it. Can't remember what it was (oil leak, fitting)? 5. He won at Talladega in early May/late April. 16. Evan posted: 11.05.2011 - 12:57 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I caught this one on the radio. I had been staying over at my grandparent's house that weekend and my uncle put the radio on the race. I listened to the race and realized Bill Elliott had won but little did I know that it would be until 2001 when Elliott found victory lane again. 17. Ryan W posted: 07.24.2013 - 10:43 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Elliott was absolutely flying at the end. He put a 6 second difference on Dale after passing him with 13 to go. His car was overheating and it made his car go much faster down the straights. Earnhardt may have backed off knowing he couldn't catch him to save his own stuff OR didn't want to be behind him if his engine blew. Probably both 18.
