It hasn't been done since, as of today. 2. And note that I say "competes in" and not "starts," as he would return nine years later to start (and park) Phoenix Racing's Cup car in several races. Coincidentally, the Hover #80 would not start another Winston Cup event for nine years either, despite occasional failed attempts...finally returning in the EXACT SAME RACE that marked Ruttman's return to Cup racing: the 2004 Subway 400 at Rockingham. While Joe's team didn't even bother to bring along a pit crew, Andy Hillenburg qualified the #80 Ford 43rd out of 43 drivers attempting the race and actually completed the event, albeit many laps down. 21. Despite having the windshield blow out of the car late in the race after spinning in Turn 2, about the exact same time that Rusty had his wreck, LaJoie finished 29th. That might be the last time a driver lost a windshield in a Cup race but I can't verify that. Richard Petty was an announcer for this event 26. B. Dodge | 02.17.08 - 11:37 am Gordon dominated until the rain delay around lap 71. When they pitted the crew let the jack down (before the left front tire was on) and the tire crumpled the sheet metal in front of the drivers door. This left Marlin vertually untouchable for the rest of the day as Gordon was unable to get back to the front with the body damage and eventually pushed up into the wall off of turn 2 and fell off the lead lap. 27. Broome took over after Ren left, for no reason given. And I should say that Kinser not being in the 26 was a mutual decision. Kinser blamed himself but also that the new testing rules that NASCAR had for the 1995 season as the reason he could never established himself in a stock car. He said he should have made some Busch Series starts, if he had to do it all over again. Rumors had it that Quaker State asked for Kinser's departure but both Bernstein and Kinser denined that claim. 37. 44andJoe posted: 01.02.2013 - 2:27 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Last race for RaDiUs' Cup team. 38. psugorilla posted: 01.27.2013 - 2:46 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Also of Note: #65 Steve Seligman was in the 2nd Twin 125. He could run about a second or two faster with the new tires than anyone else. Caught up with Nigel Marlin and that ratio went down. I believe Marlin would have done anything he could have to prevent Dale from winning. He disliked Dale that much. I also think if Dale would have got beside him he would have done whatever it would have taken to win. 47. 23andJoe posted: 04.13.2014 - 1:48 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) #65 sponsor: Mariani Leasing #68 sponsor: Phoenix Air #72 sponsor: Tork Auto Wipes #80 sponsor: Park Ohio Industries #97 sponsor: Extra Strength Bayer Aspirin 48.
