This was the first race that I was ever at. I was nine, and it was the
most exciting thing I'd ever seen until that point! Rusty had em covered
that day!

I found this race on tape, and it really was a Wallace ass kicking.
Earnhardt and Gordon tried to keep up, but they were no match for
Wallace that day.

Derrike Cope had a very solid run going, but he was penalized for
jumping the restart, and later dropped out. Nice run for John Andretti.
It was his best run on a short track up to that point.

Great qualifying run by my driver, Dave Marcis. Earnhardt and Petree
gave him some setup advise, much like they would do in later years
(especially on the superspeedways). Still, it was nice to see him up
there, if only for a brief moment.

Marlin gets a death blow for his hopes for the championship.
Reliability, which had put him in the position to compete for the Cup,
finally left him. He lost about 100 points to Gordon, and lost 2nd
position in the standings, which he would never regain.

The Commentators For The Race Were Ken Squier, Dick Berggren And Chad
Little. The Pit Road Reporters Were Steve Byrnes And Randy Pemberton.
Anchoring The STP Pit Communication Center Was Rick Benjamin.
