The previous week, Petty had started a massive pileup, and was given a 5 lap penalty. Details are sketchy, but I believe it was either Felix Sabates or someone else protesting the penalty, and another 2 laps was put on. At Dover, the 42 car ran a paint scheme looking like Dale Earnhardt's car, "because a certain guy driving a black car wouldn't have gotten penalized." I could be wrong. 2. Makes sense to me. 8. Steve posted: 11.24.2006 - 3:01 am Rate this comment: (0) (1) I would agree, Darrell, but after I noticed your observation, I then noticed that Hermie's sponsor was Peebles rather than Pebbles. Very funny, though. 9. SK posted: 02.13.2007 - 3:16 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Steve Grissom had a fiery wreck after blowing a tire and smacking the turn 1 wall. He escaped uninjured, fortunately. 10. Anonymous posted: 08.08.2007 - 7:12 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I think this is the only race that Jeff Gordon had red wheels. 11. Even had white numbers. 12. most posted: 03.17.2008 - 6:45 pm Rate this comment: (1) (3) I will take back my Kyle Busch comment, lol, now that he isn't a hendrick driver! I really wish someone had the guts to do that though, swapping owners points is cool but heaven forbid you make light of a situation! 13. 18fan posted: 02.10.2009 - 1:35 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Does anyone have a picture of the #42 car painted like the #3? 14. The message stated: "Todo es justo en amor y carreras" which means "All's fair in love and careers" 19. James W. It was announced going into the weekend that he would be released at the end of the season from the #29 Cup team and wouldn't be driving the #29 for partial schedules in the Busch Series after the end of the year.(Grissoms sold that Busch team to Bechtel) Then he goes out in the Busch race and gets collected in a wreck not of his making and finishes 35th and it would end up being the last time he drove the car. The next day in the Cup race he blows a right front 60 some laps in and into the wall to finish dead last in 42nd and would only last a couple more races before being let go early and replaced by Greg Sacks. He wouldn't start another race in the 96 season. 23. Robert Pressley got the chance to go on a Sasquatch expedition that is picked by a draw, a lottery if you'd call it where only 20 names are drawn each year. His name got drawn in April of ?96 and this was the weekend the expedition took place. I remember the pit reporters on Friday during the qualifying broadcast of this weekend having fun with Robert Pressley is going on a Sasquatch hunt out in Washington state 25. ?2? posted: 03.29.2020 - 10:40 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @23/24 Him missing the race bumped him from 22nd to 29th in points. 26. RaceFanX posted: 03.29.2020 - 11:16 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @23-25 I think it was more so that Robert Pressley was still on the mend. He got hurt in a practice crash for the Winston Open and sat out that race with Greg Sacks filling in for him as a relief driver during the Coke 600 after Pressley started it for the points. I think they just decided to have him rest up while Sacks drove the whole race here. 27. Ethan posted: 05.26.2020 - 12:37 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Pressley cracked his ribs. He had only raced a limited number of laps at the Coke 600. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
