This was also Loy's last race in the #19 Ford that was his best known ride, Loy would never get another full-time ride after this release. 3. Jarrett lost the championship to Gordon by 14 points, and the difference in this race was 15 points. 11. That's just a 10-point cushion over 2nd in this race, and Gordon would have still hung on for the title. Still, who's to say that was the deciding factor. If you go into the final race with an X-point lead, who's to say you'll race the same way as with a Y-point lead? Deep thoughts... lol 12. 18fan posted: 12.24.2012 - 2:43 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) For the fourth time in the last 6 Rockingham races, Ricky Rudd finishes 4th. 13. 83andJoe posted: 06.24.2013 - 10:59 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #90 crew chief: Bob Johnson 14. Dale Jarrett finishes second and pockets the one lap led bonus points PLUS the most laps led bonus, which netted him 180 points. This was one of the issues I had with the old system, there would sometimes be ties and second place would get almost as much as the winner. 15. It is neat to go back through any of the races back in the day before the sport was fixed when it wasn't broken though and think, if just this one thing would or wouldn't have happened so and so would've won the championship. 17. Unfortunately for him was a lap down and couldn't un-lap himself though. 18.
