Probably retaliation for Gordon spinning Spencer at Texas while Jeff was, again, lapping Spencer. 3. A very convenient really bad push, considering the events of a few weeks before. :) 7. They showed it to drum up interest for the fledgling network. 12. Great run for the Filmar 81 team after sitting on pole and running in the top 10 just about all day to come home 6th. Dale Earnhardt continued to battle back after a slow start to the season, he was running in the top 10 much of the first half of the race but then made contact with Jeremy Mayfield on pit road where he had to go to the back for fender and tire damage and just could not dig out of that hole. ESPN clearly wanted Rusty Wallace to be able to get up to Gordon during the race after the prior ongoings that happened at Bristol. Ricky Craven returned to the 25 Budweiser car after suffering injuries at Texas Overall was not a snoozefest race by any means but also looking back it will not be remembered aside from being a pretty typical Martinsville race with the exception of just a very dominant car up front and the spin and win by Gordon 16. Lots of pissed off Earnhardt fans in the seats upset because their driver couldn't beat Jeff. 17. Unfortunately Dad wound up last after an early race incident made for a long day. 18. CJ posted: 04.19.2018 - 12:07 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Season best finish for Kenny Wallace. 19. In the middle and coming off of the turns going into the straightaways, Jimmy Spencer was running about a half a groove up from the bottom groove every time. He really didn't spin Jeff, Jeff just came down and didn't realize that Jimmy was still there coming out of turn 4. Also leading up to it, Spencer's car was bobbling like crazy in the straightaways. As crazy and as apt to losing his mind at times as Jimmy Spencer was, I really don't think this one was his fault or Jeff Gordons. Just a racing incident. Although I'll admit that most wrecks I see as racing incidents and not on purpose. 20. He ended up only losing 2 spots after the spin to 3rd. They then all pitted and his best pit crew in Nascar gained him another spot to 2nd, so he only had to pass Bobby Hamilton after all of that. Man that was a disappointment. 21. Rich posted: 08.04.2020 - 4:22 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The commentators were Bob Jenkins, Ned Jarrett and Benny Parsons.
