Looking back I would have wanted Trickle to win but I am a big Craven fan. 4. biffle16 posted: 01.08.2007 - 11:48 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) If Trickle had won, he would've won on his 56th birthday. RIP Bobby. 5. adamal82 posted: 08.31.2007 - 7:33 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Junie Donlavey's last top 5 as an owner 6. Yarborough done it at North Wilkesboro in '78. 8. Spen posted: 06.04.2009 - 9:05 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Dick Trickle became the oldest driver to finish in the top-five. Incidentally, the oldest driver to get a top-ten finish was Buck Baker at Darlington in 1976. Oddly enough, he too was driving for Junie Donlavey. 9. 18fan posted: 01.27.2010 - 1:08 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) Kyle Busch became the second driver to win on his birthday at Richmond on May 2, 2009. 10. 18fan posted: 07.06.2010 - 2:42 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Gotta love Trickle for these type of runs. He ran mid pack most of the races and then all of a sudden he has a super run. 11. Steve posted: 01.07.2011 - 6:45 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I wouldn't care who won in a Craven & Trickle battle; it would be cool just to see the two of them battling for the win! I'd probably pull for Trickle, too, since he was driving for Junie. Hamilton's second win, like his first, comes for King Richard on a 1 mile track. 13. Bobby was Richard's best driver, John Andretti was pretty good as well. 16. most posted: 06.24.2014 - 12:57 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) 2 of the top 5 and three of the top 10 are deceased now, only 1 driver in this race runs more than an occasional one off race now, Jeff Gordon..... Times change! 17. Wayne posted: 10.18.2014 - 7:23 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Bobby Hamilton's last win driving for Richard Petty. He'd win two more times (one for Morgan-McClure at Martinsville the following season--on a Monday, ironically--and his last Cup win for Andy Petree at Talladega in '01) 18. He was running as high as 2nd at one point and was still in the Top 10 when his crankshaft broke. 20. #27ever posted: 03.23.2019 - 3:13 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @14 what a beautiful paint scheme. 21. rateus posted: 04.11.2020 - 1:35 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) This was the last of 6 straight races where the top 3 featured 1 Ford, 1 Chevrolet and 1 Pontiac. 22. Actually I know he would have been given more leeway. Put instead they replaced him with freaking Wally Dallenbach Jr. 23. Rick Ware Racing is running J.J. Yeley's #27 Jacob Companies Ford in the NERF-themed scheme as their throwback paint job for the 2020 Southern 500. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
