The win was to say the least, emotional. It also broke Jeff Gordon's streak of 4 straight races won. Comments: Ted Musgrave filled in for Jimmy Spencer in Travis Carter's #23. 2. Around lap 350 or so, Jerry Nadeau spun the Cartoon Network Ford on the backstretch...right in front of Martin. He avoided the wacky number 9, and held the lead to the end. Why N/A for cautions? Someone please supply them. 4. And you are correct, Anonymous, Benson ran a white paint scheme adorned with several General Mills cereal mascots, affectionately known as "The Kids Car." 6. Solid run for Jeff Burton. Good top-10 run for Lepage, who was a rookie then. 7. adamal82 posted: 01.07.2008 - 7:09 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Last race for Diamond Ridge Motorsports on the Cup Side with it being Eliott Sadler's 2nd start 8. He managed to get a 5th, but he was held down by his illness. 10. Sébastien posted: 04.03.2010 - 2:42 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Shepherd #91 was unsponsored. 11. Very similar to Brett Favre beating the Raiders when his father passed away, it is these performances that show the true measure of a man. Mark's father was with him that night and he knew it, because of how excited he was climbing out of that car. 17. rob posted: 02.05.2015 - 7:42 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) The car of Bobby Hamilton was overheating through much of the race. He was fine as long as the race was under green, but would have to pit several times under each caution. He charged from the rear of the pack into the top ten on several occasions and ended up eleventh. 18. However, Martin slowly but surely worked his way into the lead and never looked back. Mayfield eventually spun while running the top 5 late. He recovered to finish 8th. Also, I got a chuckle out of something that happened with only a couple of laps to go. Earnhardt did his trademark move and muscled his way past Skinner by pushing him up the track while battling for 6th. I don't know if it was Skinner himself or his spotter, but the radio communication that was being played live during the broadcast, you could clearly hear, "That son of a b*tch!" They may have been teammates, but they were both extremely competitive. I imagine Childress would have been mightily unhappy if they had both been taken out in a wreck. Anyway, congrats to Martin for winning a race after such a tragedy. You could tell how emotional he was in his victory lane interview. 19.
