Great weekend for the King as his truck won on Saturday (Jimmy Hensley) and the #43 on Sunday. 4. Not a bad run for Rich Bickle, either, following up his incredible Martinsville top 5 in September 1998. 9. He predicted a win the night before...and then finished 38th. 14. As expected, this did end up being the last win for both John Andretti and Petty Enterprises. The King would get back to victory lane as an owner once new investors helped the team morph into Richard Petty Motorsports. 18. Gordon, Wallace, Burton and Martin brawling all race for the lead and Andretti comes from nowhere to pass them all and win, taking 2 tyres at the last stop. Not very often you see universal approval from the crowd for a win. Also, 3 drivers lead 125+ laps and none of them won, not very often you see that. 21. He also drove like a man possessed, at what point cutting through the turn 4 grass to try to get back on the lead lap before taking a caution. Once he was able to RACE his way onto the lead lap, he couldn't be stopped. Had he not had that early spin, he definitely would have led many more laps, maybe even the most of the day. 23. John Andretti had a fast pit stop at the end on 2 tires to get up to fourth, lost one spot on the short run, but that thing just came alive and he made up like 5 or 6 seconds on Jeff Burton in 30-40 laps to take the win away. One thing both me and Darian note about this race is how many people today think NASCAR is very inconsistent with their penalty calls today, but now, just show those people that say "Brian France ruined NASCAR with bad penalty calls etc..." this race and how they handled the caution flag. There were like 5 or 6 different crashes that should have been cautions that weren't. 28.
