Zippy had the "honor." 6. J. Kircher posted: 04.05.2006 - 2:31 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) This must have felt like an IRL race at Loudon for Tony Stewart. He dominates and before the finish something not of his own making costs him the win. However, if it were the IRL, he would have finished four or five spots higher just because of the car count! 7. Darrell posted: 07.24.2006 - 12:02 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Probably one of the biggest heartbraker races ever. Don't forget John Andretti was strong that day as well, but ran out of fuel the same time Tony did. Career-best finish for Kenny Wallace. 8. biffle16 posted: 05.24.2007 - 3:43 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I wish this race was still called the "Jiffy Lube 300". It sounds like a cool race name to me. 9. biffle16 posted: 05.24.2007 - 8:37 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Also, this race and the '99 Daytona 500 were the only races that David Green failed to qualify for in 1999. 10. The others came at Talladega in October 2000, and Rockingham in November 2001. Another win that Burton lucked into..... 13. He was really nice, very much like what you see on camera. 14. Josh posted: 09.11.2009 - 1:14 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) This WAS the race that Jarrett and Gordon fought in the garage after because Gordon pulled a bump and run coming to the checkered. There is a difference between trying to get a spot and trying to wreck someone. Gordon was ruthlessly aggressive, like, or more, than Dale Earnhardt Sr was. But Dale Jarrett complained too much over little things. I'm not really surprised that DJ called him out on this one. 15. Josh posted: 09.11.2009 - 1:16 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Oh and now that I looked through the field more thoroughly, Jeff Gordon dumped Rusty in this race as well. Jeff pissed a couple people off in this one. 16. Wonder if the Budweiser marketing team looked at Earnhardt's last-place finish and then saw Wally in 7th and questioned their decision. Probably not but still amusing to consider. 20. JSPorts posted: 12.12.2016 - 8:13 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) There was a point in time in which Jeff Burton was absolutely unstoppable at New Hampshire. It didn't matter whether he started 1st or last, led 1 lap or all of them, he would find a way to victory lane. 24. Anonymous posted: 04.10.2018 - 6:10 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Apparently Rich Bickle was sabotaged during this race. He says his CC and Chad Knaus then the Car Chief for Tyler Jet wanted Johnny Benson in ASAP and had a then 2nd place run and pitted with about 15 to go. Pretty sure he is full of crap. 26. Larry posted: 01.09.2019 - 11:50 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Chad Little seemed to have a knack for messing up the leaders in this race. Kyle Petty called him out for holding everyone up. Little nearly spun Bobby Labonte out of the lead early in the race, then when Bobby was running 4th with less than a hundred laps to go he runs Bobby so tight that Bobby ended up spinning out and backing into the wall. 27. Anthony2 posted: 01.11.2020 - 12:59 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Bickle said he could've won the race since had had plenty of fuel left for the finish. Then he was told by his team that if he didn't pit he was gonna be fired from the team. 28. Corey posted: 01.11.2020 - 1:29 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) This is the only 2nd place for Kenny Wallace that didn't involve Dale Earnhardt or Joe Nemechek. For Talladega 2000, Kenny finished second to Dale, with Joe coming in third. For Rockingham 2001, Kenny finished second to Joe, while driving for Dale Earnhardt Inc. 29. JSPorts posted: 01.11.2020 - 1:33 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Why would they fire him for not pitting? 30. Wil posted: 01.11.2020 - 2:46 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) He was fired anyway, or at least Bickle was not retained by his team. Bet he wishes he went for it. 31. Anonymous posted: 01.11.2020 - 5:18 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Rich Bickle seems like the kind of person who can't see himself as anything but the victim in every situation. Much like the Allisons. 34. possum posted: 01.11.2020 - 9:30 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @32 - bearing in mind that the driver has virtually no way of knowing how much fuel is in the car, whereas the crew chief knows exactly how much was put in on the last pit stop, and what mileage the car got on previous stops, I'd guess the crew chief knew Bickle would run out, and didn't want to sacrifice a lead-lap finish. 35.
